Piezomed Pro: Tip range for individual treatments
The new W&H MED Console provides users with a modular solution for ENT and CMF surgery. The Piezomed Pro is the central component of the 2-in-1 solution and features ultrasonic technology for precision bone cutting. In close cooperation with surgeons, W&H developed a comprehensive and practical range of tips for the Piezomed Pro.
“With our instrument portfolio, we want to provide surgeons with the best possible support for their personal workflow. Our goal was to cover all surgical techniques – whether open approach, closed approach or, to name one example, preservation rhinoplasty – and ultimately to develop tips suitable for all surgeons”, underlines Roman Gschaider, W&H Product Management.
Three tip sets – countless possibilities
The W&H tip range includes a short diamond-coated piezo tip for precise perforation of, for example, the septum, instruments for fine resection and grinding of the nasal bridge and a wide variety of piezo saws for all kinds of bone preparation. A total of 25 instruments are available, offering unrivalled precision for surgical procedures. W&H offers three different tip sets available for users: the CMF Set for craniomaxillofacial surgery procedures, the Rhino Basic Set for the open rhinoplasty approach and the Rhino Advanced Set for the closed rhinoplasty approach. In addition, the ergonomic Piezomed Pro handpiece ensures easy access to the nose and features a high-quality instrument changer that allows instruments to be changed quickly and easily. “I was involved in developing the exclusive piezo tip set for dorsal preservation rhinoplasty. With this we have made the surgery even safer, as subdorsal structures and the radix can be treated more gently,” says Dr Milos Kovacevic, specialist in ENT and facial plastic surgery.
