W&H Med Console: Modular solution for ENT and CMF surgery

Piezo technology and a surgical motor in one device, optimum flexibility during treatment and a tailor-made tip portfolio – all this and much more awaits users of the new W&H Med Console. The innovative 2-in-1 solution was developed to meet the exacting requirements of ENT specialists, plastic surgeons and CMF experts.

Piezosurgery is the first choice for safe and gentle rhinoplasty procedures. It uses ultrasonic technology, which ensures that only hard tissue is resected while any soft tissue is preserved. “Piezosurgery in rhinoplasty shortens the post-operative healing process and patients experience a reduction in swelling and pain following surgery”, says Andreas Stegbuchner, W&H Product Director Medical. The new Piezomed Pro from W&H Med, the medical business unit of the W&H Group, harnesses this technology to provide users with an optimum solution for aesthetic and functional rhinoplasty procedures and craniomaxillofacial surgery.

Console meets a wide range of surgical requirements

The Piezomed Pro can also be combined with the W&H Amadeo to form a surgical console for a highly optimised workflow. What’s more, the W&H Med Console also includes an extensive range of handpieces, instruments for a variety of surgical techniques, an exceptionally durable and robust tip changer, and an ergonomic piezo handpiece, which was specially developed to provide easy access to the nose. The system is modular and can therefore be flexibly adapted to surgeons’ individual requirements. “The W&H Med system combines piezo technology with the option of using rotary instruments – all in one device. This means it can be used for rhinoplasty as well as other plastic surgery procedures. The piezo tips were developed for all nasal surgery indications in collaboration with a group of rhinoplasty experts. For the first time, W&H is now also offering tips for closed rhinoplasty to preserve the nasal bridge”, says Dr Philipp Mayr, specialist in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.

Tip range provides unrivalled precision and optimal results

W&H worked in close collaboration with experts to develop three different tip sets for the W&H Med Console: the CMF set for craniomaxillofacial surgery procedures, the Rhino Basic set for the open rhinoplasty approach and the Rhino Advanced set for the closed rhinoplasty approach. Any surgeon should therefore find the ideal tip for their specific needs.
